The ASBA Credentialing Board will conduct a one-day review course and examination on April 4th, prior to this year’s annual conference in Las Vegas
The American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA) is dedicated to enriching its’ members knowledge and skill in the treatment of sleep disordered breathing. Our goal is to provide current evidence-based information to our members and enable them to provide optimal treatment for their patients.
The ASBA offers a Diplomate designation as confirmation of a practitioners knowledge, skill and experience in Dental Sleep. The primary goal, of the Diplomate designation, is to show the entire health care profession that they are able to achieve better patient outcomes, and to provide patients with a higher level of treatment.
Please note: By signing up for the review course or the Diplomate examination, the registration fees for our two-day conference will be waived. We encourage Candidates to take this opportunity to connect with the credentialing team, attend lectures, engage in workshops, and network with fellow Academy members during the weekend, without the need for additional registration.

The American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA) is an Academy embodying professional excellence in the realm of upper airway, breathing, and sleep-related issues within the growing field of Dental Sleep Medicine. We realize this vision through the following:
- Advocacy — To serve as a dedicated advocate for patients with Sleep disorders
- Education —
- To provide comprehensive education for dentists, and all other DDS/DMD specialties, in the field of Dental Sleep
- To educate sleep physicians, pulmonologists, otolaryngologists, cardiologists, and other medical specialists, as well as oral myofunctional therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, physical therapists, naturopaths and others in the field
- Collaboration — To collaborate with other professional bodies, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, and similar entities involved in this emerging specialty
- Special Populations — To liaise with organizations like the National Football League, the US military, transport workers’ associations, and other special risk populations
- Education Expansion — To encourage the integration of education within Dental Schools, Medical Schools, Hospitals, Medical and Dental Conferences, and other relevant educational institutions.
